What?
The first ever outdoors trip of the Photowalking group had eight friends coming along - Abhishek / Ankur / Shweta / Anuj / Saurabh / Puneet / Aastha / Ankit. And Shweta-Anuj’s kid, Maulik. We crowned him as the youngest Photowalker!
The ‘let’s go’ spirit, the laugh riots, the masti, the craziness….we enjoyed it all. Thanks to each one of you for the ’special effects’. - Shweta
Where?
Lansdowne is a cantonment town in Pauri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand, founded and named after then Viceroy of India, Lord Lansdowne in 1887. Surrounded by thick oak and blue pine forests, Lansdowne has scenic beauty and good surroundings. It is the nearest hill station from Delhi, about 250 kms.
When?
The June 20-21, 2009 weekend. We returned Monday afternoon.
How?
We started from Pragati Maidan, New Delhi (meeting point) at 0600 on June 20 in two cars. Wrong turns, mid-way chai-shai, and random stopages for photography… and we reached Lansdowne at lunch.
The lodging was at Hotel Mayur, an average hotel with friendly staff. The terrace was nice, and we made it our camp for the booze and conversations at night.
Second day we drove to Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple, and ended the day with sunset at Tip-n-Top. Monday morning, we captured the sunrise at Tip-n-Top, and then made our way back to Delhi.
Yeah, was a good trip. Cheerz. - Saurabh
